NEWS FROM OUR FARM!
| Stockton St Farm Progressing Quickly!!
The new farm is emerging from the rubble! The garbage has been hauled out, the ground is currently being covered with wood-chips and leveled. The first flower box has been constructed and planted and a veggie container garden with over 50 plants has been assembled! The next step is building a new sturdy fence, we will be working on this at the wood shop, so come lend a hand. After the completion of the fence the chicken coop will be constructed & the new flock will move in.

|*PS 123 Garden Built & Planted!
This school garden is part of our garden outreach program that provides schools and community centers with free gardens which BCF sponsors, builds and helps maintain. This garden will provide hands on food education & farming experience for the children and will provide free fresh organic food to be incorporated into the school cafeteria lunch. We had a great turn out of children and parents from the school and everyone had a great time building the school garden which now sits in front of the school. Along with the raised veggie beds & trellises built, we created a wood-chip path which winds around the veggie garden and is bordered by flowers. We have also provided PS 123 with organic veggie seedlings and joined them for the planting. Just after we completed the garden for PS 123, it was featured in Bushwick Open Studios! We are super excited to have worked with PS 123 & the Arts & Literacy Program to create this garden and are currently in contact with other community organizations that we plan to build gardens for – so stay tuned! 🙂This past Sunday another egg giveaway at the farm- over 100 more eggs distributed!
